TRAINER

BK will be staying in the Salt Lake Area

Search going on for full time trainer for the club

Allow some teams to use funds to try out some trainers – to help set up trainer pool

Coco has been suggested.  Let teams try them and use half their funds to try out to get a pool.

John Ragsdales for goalie training

Paul and Mogie will be meeting with BK next week – check commitment and availability to the club, if he has any recommendations for trainers for the pool.

How about Sydney?

Coco, John Ragsdale, Sydney so far in pool

$4.00/hour/kid is standard rate, all trainers need to be paid the same, must sign contract up front (every thing needs to be set up upfront)

Paul motioned that Coco be looked at for a trainer for the club, set up the contract and make him available to other teams

Second by Angela

Motion approved – voting unanimous

Paul will contact Lloyd Jones to set up a contract

Paul and Mogie will look at rates and approach Coco

General Business

Jennylyn

Registration went great -  it is almost done

Paul suggested

We need a club registrar – because it is such a big and important task

This would not be a board position

Second by Mindy

Motion approved – voting unanimous

Mindy and Angela have concern that teams have no volunteers, none for board positions.  What can club do to help change parents involvement?

Mindy - Should coach ask and assign to positions – coaches need to be educated

Paul - Team manager should staff the positions – not the coach

Angela – especially the younger kids get the parents and coaches trained now

Paul – get team managers educated on responsibilities, trained and in place.

Angela will do team manger email to encourage to get team positions filled and will do training – Mindy and Angela will work on this.

Paul – bylaws need to be changed to make sure that each team is required to have a board member. Maybe combine team rep and board member.

Paul - at registration realized that some parents have more than one kid playing - may have to look at positions.

The key positions for the teams are listed in the bylaws.

Paul will email out the bylaws to the board members.

Kelli Summers – intimidating when you first coming

Next board meeting will be changed so that it is not on the night of the tournament.

TOURNAMENT

Logo was passed around

Comments – brighter, more vivid, more contrast, washed out, Murray Max same font, need date

REGISTRATION

Quick review on registration process:

Change

Get a club registrar

Train Team Manager and registration will go better

Do better: Come with packets filled out if not parents come

Paul - Well organized, I got to meet a lot of people that I wouldn’t have meet otherwise – very useful – banner was great, yard signs were good

Kelli Summers – felt very clubish – goof

Marty – didn’t go but if I have a break down of fee’s it is helpful

Greg  – main registration is a good idea, team feeling, maybe a two day thing, more flexible

- two days would be more flexible, club feeling, older kids see the younger kids and visa versa.  Easier time to fill positions later when teams have gotten together and kind of know each other etc.

Mindy – general boards meeting might be better in the summer when starting new season and new kids

Jennylynn - people wanted the kids to take the paper work and bring back – I don’t want to do it twice.

Angela – the coaches said that if I had had the paperwork a week ahead they could have gotten all the info - but then they don’t get that club feeling, start advertising in January – signs up 4-6 weeks ahead of time

Feedback on direction of club

This fall will have 4-5 teams in Premier Division (20%)

Coaching is improving

Plans for this year with tax filing

More training for coaches and trainers

Look forward to a great year

Thank you for all your help
