Attendance:

Congratulations U13 Boys- Cottonwood Heights

 

June minutes reviewed and approved.  Motioned by Kelli Summers, seconded by Lloyd Jones, unanimous approval by board.

 

Club Business

 

Paul Hezseltine- coaches licensing and registering teams.  All coaches need a D license, assistants need an E license.  Discussion on possibility of registering up to 3 teams under one D licensed coach.  Necessity of having D licensed coach on sidelines throughout entirety of game.  Forfeiture of game if D coach is removed.  Lack of coaches with a D license.  Other clubs having same issues. 

UYSA has always had this rule but has not always enforced it.  Lack of classes offered both D and E licenses.  Clubs and coaches should not be held accountable due to lack of classes.  A one year grace period was suggested by Orden Yost, enough time to allow all coaches to get proper licensing and to arrange classes- possibly within Murray Max.

Paul Hezseltine will check further with UYSA.

 

Paul Hezselting- Alignment forms need to be in by next Tuesday, July 22, 2008.

            Orden Yost- forms available on UYSA site.

 

Trainers available again on Aug. 6 (Wed.)  Kick off tournament meeting with them.

            Carla Christensen- High school girls tryouts at that time.

            Angela Knudson- Possible coaches evening.

            Paul Hezseltine- coaches review program with Lee and Andy, manuals for   coaches.  Possibly Tuesday, Aug. 5 

 

Uniforms and Equipment

 

MaryAnn- goal size and changes.  Discussion of 3 sets of goals to be ordered.  Discussion of types of goals:  assemble each time or leave at venue. Various grades of quality and pricing.

Motion made by Lloyd Jones to a lot MaryAnn Christensen $7,000.00 + 10% ( as she sees fit) to order 3 sets of goals, nets, clips, shipping included to be here in time for Max Cup.  Seconded by Angela Knudson, unanimous approval by board.

 

MaryAnn Christensen-  Equipment issues with teams.  She is trying to round up extra and missing equipment. 

            After Score sends shirts and promo money… balance to be used on equipment. 

            Last of shirts in on Monday, Team Gear packaged for teams by end of July.             Team coach or   Manager can pick up.

 

            Separate company for the shield, week to digitize. 

            Coaches playing in Park City Tournament email MaryAnn and she will have their     uniforms done first.

 

            Motion to sell old logo apparel at Max Cup at a discount by Paul Hezseltine,            seconded by Lloyd Jones, unanimous approval by board.

 

            New game ball for all teams after tournament.  Please turn in old game ball to         MaryAnn Christensen.

 

            20% discount at Team Gear for MM on some items.  20% discount when order comes as a    club.  Check with MaryAnn for order first.  $25 ball for $12.50, suggested to give to players     after camp next summer.

 

Treasurer out of town.

 

Fields

 

Kelli Summers- condition of Willow Pond.  Fields need to be on 25th of July.  Kelli will email Director of coaches with assignments and Paul will email coaches with assignments afterward.

 

Tournament

 

Mindy Wankier- corporate donations to tournament

Discussion on timing of tournament, price, how to increase interest.  Suggestions to develop relationships with other clubs and support/trade with each other or team up to do a tournament together.  Change focus of tournament and schedule at the end of June: use as a skill implementation after camp or “try-out” players.  Life of tournament.

 

Director of Risk

 

Lloyd Jones- 2 adults at every practice, first aid kits available if you don’t have one.  Plans to bring up at a coaches meeting as well.

 

Tournament Meeting This Tuesday @ 8:00 at Orden’s House:  4616 Atwood.

Mindy Wankier check on tourney date options for next year.

 

Paul Hezseltine- Andy needs a host family  Aug. 11- end of October, let Paul or Joe know.

 

Gas allowance for trainers?

 

Paul hezseltine- MM is non-profit, tax deductible.  Company sponsorships

 write a check, goes through Shar, 10% to club.

 

Discount options to get teams to tournament?

 

Honor role patch/ pins discussed.

 

Motion to close Meeting Angela Knudson, Second by Kelli Summers, board approved.
